Who I Work With
As my practice is entirely virtual at this time, I now work with people aged 17+.
Regardless of age, all humans have the same need for belonging, connection, purpose and safety in order experience a sense of well-being. There are myriad things that can happen to upset our feeling of equilibrium or contentment in life including the divorce, a new job, trauma, abuse, natural disasters as well as the everyday stresses of life such as moving to a new house, moving to a new city or country, shifting identities from child to teen or young adult, from single to married, or the aging process.
How we react to these stressors depends on a variety of life conditions: our age, mental health status, early childhood experiences, our experiences of racism, sexism, homophobia, our financial status and more. Life is complicated!
My aim is to tailor my approach to the needs and life experience of the person in front of me.
Here are some of the reasons you might meet with me:
The end of a significant romantic relationship
A persistent feeling of disconnection from yourself (often asking "Who am I?" "What is my purpose?")
Parenting issues: discipline, aggression, lack of connection, a desire for coaching through a difficult stage or phase in your child's life
History of abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, or otherwise)
Feeling of being not quite right - not understanding why you have what seem like unusual or overly dramatic reactions to situations that other people are able to brush off or ignore
Life changes: aging, retirement, pregnancy, new parenthood, change in employment status, change in physical ability, divorce, children leaving the family home, adult children returning home
Questioning or exploration of spiritual identity or spiritual practice
Divorce
Co-parenting with a former spouse
Infertility
Challenges associated with becoming a new parent
Childhood abuse
Traumatic experiences
Grief
Anxiety (persistent worry)
Depression (persistent sadness, or feelings of emptiness)

Moving toward retirement
A need to simply talk about your inner world with a non-judgmental person with no personal attachment to your story.
